NCA Crit #2 - My Race observations
Submitted by Joe on Sun, 03/30/2008 - 11:15am.The first race was the Masters which started 6 people. I lead the first lap or two but after that Dwayne moved to the front and built a gap on everyone. Eventually, Troy Kraus bridged up to Dwayne. Later I bridged up to the leaders for a short stint. From what I experienced Dwayne was setting such a blistering pace that no one was interested in taking a pull. At the end of the race Dwayne took the final sprint over Troy.

Behind me and Richard, that's where. Here is the scene:
Small paceline - RIchard, me, and Todd. 20 mph or so, into the sun toward Battle Creek. All three of us totally in the zone.

Elkhorn Valley Cycling Club continues to grow and prosper, adding new members on a regular basis. Interest in recreational cycling is high and our Omaha base of operation, spearheaded by Joe Savoie, is getting a firm hold on the Omaha scene.
Recent new membes from Omaha include Brian Tangen, Craig Harding, Dan Ertz, and Nick Zeimet.
When welcoming these members, I asked them for a brief idea of what their expectaions were of themselves and the club. Here are a couple responses:

Wednesday Night Rides
Submitted by jon_downey on Mon, 03/17/2008 - 8:39am.When does everyone want to start Wednesday Night Rides? For this week anyway, Wednesday looks to be the best night weather-wise. And with it being Holy Week, the nights gets busy for some.

Everybody Is Stronger!
Submitted by jon_downey on Thu, 03/13/2008 - 8:23pm.Wow, the last couple days were a rude introduction to the 2008 season. After Wednesday's beating at the hands of the NW wind, what had started out for me to be a moderately paced recovery ride tonight turned into another test of my stamina.

Submitted by Training Editor on Wed, 03/12/2008 - 9:58am.By: Fiona Lockhart, CTS Pro Coach
An abundance of information exists for endurance athletes; sometimes too much. Below are some of the myths that seem to be perpetuated over and over again, even though the scientific research doesn’t back it up.

Once again, its volunteer request time. This year's major race calendar is compressed into the first part of the riding season, so please try to make every effort to help out. This has never been a problem and I don't anticipate it will be this year.
