Tim Powell's 2009 Dakota 5-O Recap

Tim Powell related this tale of his Dakota 5-O trip this year:

Another Dakota 5-O is history. I did good considering that I was out-of-shape and had a flat tire to deal with during the race. I had a minor crash, see the finish picture, mud and a little abrasion on my leg but it was an annoyance more than anything.

My finish time was 6hrs:41 min. I didn't podium but then I didn't expect to with a number of over 50 fast guys in attendance.

2009 TT Series Closer

A smaller-than-average field turned out for the final time trial of the 2009 Norfolk Race Series September 8 at NorfolK Beverage. Mostly clear skies and breezy conditions greeted racers at the start but clouds in the western sky turned the evening prematurely dark, reinforcing the need to end the season in early September.

Finding time to ride in this season seemed to be the theme of the night, with most riders lamenting their lack of riding in the past weeks. Still, times and average miles per hour were on track with those during the height of the season, with some, noteably Jerry Nordeen and Jan Hake, turning in personal bests.
