On Saturday several of the 2010 EVCC/TT1 race members wet their wheels at the third installment of the Flatwater Training Criterium (or as Duane Blair pointed out - the Rainwater Training Crit).  Under cloudy skies and cold conditions, Joe Savoie and Devin Bethune represented the Orange and Blue in the first race of the day, the Category 3 men.  Although I wasn't able to watch as much of the race as I would have liked, I do know that Devin took both primes and Joe broke away on the last lap to comfortably take the win.

There is a great article here on pacelines, rotations in wind and echelons.  Please read through it, this is something that we will work on at team camp when it gets rescheduled.  Please make note of where to rotate through based on where the road is.

Just to clear up any confusion, if you want to follow Elkhorn Valley Cycling please use @nencycling rather than @evcc!

The season is for the most part over, and it is time to cap off this year with a big bash!!  The time is currently set for 6:00pm on Saturday October 11th at what was formerly known as Sports Denn in Norfolk.  All riders of all skill level that have even visited the website are welcome.  Year end awards will be presented and a good time is sure to be had by all.  Please come and enjoy.

Please respond if this night will not work, if we get to many that it won't work for then we will reschedule.  Out of town riders...we will be holding a race team party as well in a to-be-determined location and time in the next few weeks as well.  So if you can't make this one that is fine, hope to see you at the next one.

Due to popular consensus we are postponing the 9-18-08 MTB race.  Stay tuned for the reschedule date.  We are looking at a Saturday evening after the MTB race season is over with and are trying to coordinate it with the year-end club meeting.  We’ll see for sure but the Saturday evening part after October 1^st is a definite.

PS… It’s night ride season.  Any thoughts

I heard rumor that Al and Jim emerged this weekend.  Can anyone confirm this?

Anyone know where the "others" are, the ones that have not been seen due to hibernation?

Due to the time change we will be doing our TNR indoors from here on out.  The idea is that we will do approximately a 15:00 min warm-up and then a 45-60 minute video with some cool-down.

#5 - on our first ascent of the day. Jim and Al are just ahead of me. Al in the red Jim in the white. Believe it or not this is about a 6% grade at the time. One thing Al told me on the way out is that grades are deceiving. You will be riding along thinking, by looking at the road, that you are going downhill but actually you are climbing. Your perspective is all off out here.
